What's Sunset Boulevard about?

Don't miss the unique opportunity to see a performance of one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's best musicals!

End of the 50s, Los Angeles. A young scriptwriter meets Norma Desmond, a former silent film star. Living as a recluse in her big house on Sunset Boulevard, Norma wants to return to the screen. She hires Joe to work on a script which will allow her to return to the stage.

Why should you see Sunset Boulevard?

Based on the eponymous film by Billy Wilder (1950), the musical Sunset Boulevard uncompromisingly describes a Los Angeles where egos clash and dreams are shattered. Andrew Lloyd Webber's haunting melodies beautifully showcases the fragility of human ambition and the devastating consequences of the quest for fame.

Sunset Boulevard was created in 1993 in London. The show has already had two revivals which have both had a successful run. The musical was also produced twice in New York where it won 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Lyrics and Best Music.

Nicole Scherzinger - former member of the Pussycat Dolls - plays the role of Norma Desmond in this new production. This role has previously been played by great musical actresses such as Patti LuPone, Petula Clark and Glenn Close.
