Why should you see Shrek The Musical?

The musical Shrek was created in Seattle in 2008. The music is by Jeanine Tesori (Violet, Caroline, or Change, Fun Home) and the book and lyrics are by David Lindsay-Abaire. The show is based on the eponymous animated film from DreamWorks studios (2001) and draws on elements from Shrek 2, Shrek Forever After and the book Shrek! by William Steig (1990), which inspired the films.

Since its debut, the show has been well received by both the cirtics and the public alike. Shrek was nominated for eight Tony Awards in 2009 and four Olivier Awards in 2012. The show had a two-year run in New York and London and has also been performed in Brazil, Australia, Poland, Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Mexico, Germany and Argentina.

Since 2001, Shrek has become a real cultural phenomenon which people of all ages love, partly because of how it plays with the rules of traditional fairy tales, adding in a good dose of humour and pop culture references.

Don't miss this enchanting and hilarious musical!
