What's Operation Mincemeat about?

Operation Mincemeat is a comedic musical written by the group SpitLip.

The show tells the story of a disinformation operation launched during the Second World War by MI5. The aim was to convince the enemy that the Allies were preparing a landing in Sardina or Greece so that they could land in Sicily.

Why should you see Operation Mincemeat?

Operation Mincemeat was created in 2019 at the New Diorama Theatre in London. Following its success with the public, the show was brought to a larger theatre in 2023 and then taken to New York in 2025. The show also enjoyed critical success with the musical winning two Olivier Awards in 2024, including Best Musical, and a further Tony Award in 2025.

This astonishing and offbeat show drops you into the heart of a spy story which changed the course of the Second World War. Thanks to its masterful staging, the entire cast of characters involved in this incredible operation are portrayed by just five actors. A real tour de force!

This captivating spy musical combines historical accounts and suspense. More than a show, it's a unique experience - one you shouldn't miss during your trip to London!
