What's Grease about?

The cult musical Grease is finally returning to London!

The story takes place in Rydell High in 1959 when a new pupil, Sandy Dumbrowski, joins the school. She discovers that her summer love, Danny Zuko, leader of the T-Birds is also at the school. While she's delighted to reconnect with Danny, he's more concerned about his popularity than his feelings for Sandy. Will their summer romance survive the challenges of teenage life?

Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the creators of this musical, took inspiration from their own teenage years to write the show.

Why should you see Grease?

The musiscal Grease was created in 1971 in Chicago by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey (score, lyrics and music). After its arrival on Broadway the following year, the show found huge success with the public, allowing them to take it to London in 1973 and a famous film adaption in 1978 with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta in the title roles. When Grease lowered its curtain in New York in 1980, it held the record for the longest running show on Broadway.

Grease was taken to several countries. The show has already had five revivals in London and has been successful each time.

Don't wait to book your tickets for this incredible musical which is packed with hits like Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want. There are so many songs you'll be wanting to sing and tap your feet to!

The sets are really beautiful and the lights and special effects are splendid. The singers and dancers are amazingly talented, and we felt like we were reliving the film. The characters are recognisable despite looking physically different. Great discovery, great energy on stage.

Amazing 🤩 This show is breathtaking and joyful. All the artists are top notch. An unforgettable night full of energy. We went with our 14-year-old daughter who loved it. We highly recommend it. Think about having dinner before the show. There aren't many restaurants nearby open after 10 when the show ends.
