What's A Chorus Line about?

1975, New York City. On an empty Broadway stage, seventeen artists are going to compete in a final and rigorous audition for a role in a musical. Only eight of them will win a place.

When it premiered in 1975, A Chorus Line was a real shock for the audience. This show revolutionised Broadway by revealing the performers' ambitions, aspirations and sacrifices. A celebration of show business from Marvin Hamlisch (music) and Edward Kleban (lyrics).

Why should you see A Chorus Line?

The A Chorus Line musical is structured like a real audition where characters tell the director and choreographer about their story, hopes and dreams.

Through the dialogue, the show reveals why these artists have chosen to dedicate their life to stage, from impertinent Shelia and shy Paul to Cassie, a former Broadway star who's now auditioning for more minor roles.

A Chorus Line will hold the record for longevity on Broadway when the first production closes after more than 6000 performances. It was so successful that the show came to London in 1976 and was adapted for screen in 1985, starring Michael Douglas as the director. The critics have awarded the musical 9 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Songs.

For this exceptional revival in London, Adam Cooper (Singin’ in the Rain) and Carly Mercedes Dyer (Anything Goes) will take on the title roles of Zach and Cassie. Get ready for a legendary show with incredible staging. To top it all off, expect an unforgettable finale!

Every venue has been renovated recently with evey seat giving you a good view of the stage. However, the further you are from the stage, the further you are from the magic. The seats marked by a half-coloured circle indicate less good visibility (these seats are often at the back and so you can't see the whole set). We recommend avoiding them when selecting your seats.
